Direct trade has always been the ideal vision in the specialty coffee world. However, for most coffee shops with modest volumes, achieving full direct trade is not something that can be done overnight. Over the past decade, for our Latin American sourcing, mojo has chosen to work with trustworthy traders—we still visit farms in person and communicate face-to-face, but in a more pragmatic and sustainable way that allows relationships to flourish. With Taiwanese coffee, mojo goes even further. We practice 100% direct trade sourcing. It's not just about transparency of origin, but about personally participating in every decision that makes both sides better.

In March 2025, mojo co-hosted the first Best of Cou with coffee farms in Cou indigenous communities, bringing Alishan and Cou coffee into unprecedented spotlight for the first time. This initiative was also selected as a winner in the "Social Practice" category of La Vie's "Taiwan Creativity 100 in 2025." For us, this is not an ending, but the beginning of a relationship being seen.
